Rossy performed the stunt above Lake Geneva in Switzerland during an 18-minute flight before making his trademark parachute landing.

The new jet-pack is more aerodynamic than previous versions. It has a two-meter (6.6-foot) wingspan instead of the 2.5-meter (8.2-foot) model and no unfoldable parts which provides greater stability during flight.

Despite a minor problem when starting the engines, Rossy is reportedly happy with the flight which included flying 35 kilometres in around 10 minutes.

Rossy leaped to fame in September 2008 when he became the first winged person to make a successful crossing of the English Channel.

Mr & Mrs Large said they were just simple folk who didn’t need any more than what they’ve already got.

The retired couple gave money to churches, the Red Cross, fire departments, and the hospital where Mrs Large underwent cancer treatment.

These donations amounted to 98% of their winnings.

Mr Large, a retired welder, told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation that they hadn’t bought one thing. Adding that he and his wife were quite happy in their 147-year old home.

“You can’t buy happiness,” he said.

The material contains tiny structures that combined together to form a “metamaterial” which can manipulate light to render objects invisible.

Metamaterials work by channeling the flow of light at a fundamental level, controlling light waves in a precise fashion to achieve a particular effect.

Similar materials have been developed before, however, they only worked for light in a part of the spectrum which the human eye cannot see.

This new technology was made possible by the use of nanostructures which have allowed scientists to push the boundaries of manufacturing.

One of the biggest hurdles left for scientists is to allow the material to work when being bent of folded.

The military have expressed an interest in the technology where it would be likely to used extensively in the battle field before being affordable to the average consumer.

The ceremony, which took place at the Aman-e-Khas luxury resort, was conducted by a Christian minister.

The town which is the home town of TV presenter Melinda Messenger, singer Billie Piper and former Never Mind the Buzzcocks star Mark Lamarr was chosen thanks to a video slideshow created by local resident Rebecca Warren.

This winning video compared the town with Disney World using local places of interest set against an amusing rhyme which playfully extolled the benefits of Swindon.

Warren will travel to Florida with her nephew and niece to unveil a “Walt Disney World Twinned with Swindon” plaque.

“I still cannot believe that my entry has been selected. It’s fantastic. What a great opportunity for Swindon.” exclaimed Warren.

The incident happended on the way to a cemetery in the town of Alvorada, in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, where Marciana Silva Barcelos and her family were due to bury her partner, Josi Silveira Coimbra.

The 76-year-old man had died of a heart attack on Sunday after attending a dance.

The coffin slammed into the head of the woman, who was sitting in the passenger seat of the hearse, killing her instantly, according to officers.

The accident was so serve that the driver of the Alfa Romeo was trapped for around 50 minutes and was taken to hospital where he was put under observation.

The driver of the hearse and a son of the dead man, who was also travelling in the hearse, were treated for minor injuries.

In order to determine the cause of the accident the drivers of both cars will be questioned and investigations will be made

Thanks to a new fund-raising campaign by the British Humanist Association, supported by prominent atheist Professor Richard Dawkins, over £100,000 has been raised so far, smashing their target of £5,500.

The proposed slogan will read: “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.”

Due to the extraordinary success of the campaign the BHA can now afford to spread their message further and wider, although no official statement has been made as yet a to how the extra money will be spent.

There have been mixed view from the religious communities.

Stephen Green of pressure group Christian Voice said: “Bendy-buses, like atheism, are a danger to the public at large.

However the Methodist Church said it thanked Professor Dawkins for encouraging a “continued interest in God”.
