Money Can’t Buy Happiness – Canadian Couple Give Away Lottery Millions

A Canadian couple who won $10.9m (£6.7m) on the lottery last July have given $10.2m of it away to good causes.

Mr & Mrs Large said they were just simple folk who didn’t need any more than what they’ve already got.

The retired couple gave money to churches, the Red Cross, fire departments, and the hospital where Mrs Large underwent cancer treatment.

These donations amounted to 98% of their winnings.

Mr Large, a retired welder, told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation that they hadn’t bought one thing. Adding that he and his wife were quite happy in their 147-year old home.

“You can’t buy happiness,” he said.
